Please Touch Museum remains fully supportive of the City of Philadelphia in its efforts to protect children and families from the COVID-19 virus. Since reopening, the Museum has been proactive in meeting all safety and health protocols per the CDC and City, ensuring rigorous cleaning practices, and requiring masks for everyone age 2+. All PTM employees are also required to be vaccinated. We regularly review these protocols to ensure we continue to mitigate the spread of this virus while maintaining a warm, welcoming environment for children and families that supports our mission of learning through play.
Given this, it is important to clarify the new mandates from the City’s Health Department, related to establishments serving food and drink, which will go into effect on Monday, January 3:
- Please Touch Museum remains open to the public. Children and their grownups do not need to show proof of vaccination or proof of a negative COVID test to enter and enjoy Please Touch Museum and its exhibits/programs. Masks are still required for all ages 2+.
- Please Touch Museum will continue to allow all visitors to bring outside food and beverages to the museum, which must be consumed at designated tables.
- Should families wish to purchase food and beverage in our on-site Café during their visit, proof of vaccination or proof of a negative COVID test for all guests in the party (ages 5 years and 3 months+) must be provided to our Café operator, Brûlée Catering, before purchase, through January 17. After January 17, only proof of vaccination will be accepted, per the City’s mandate, for the Café.
- Eating and drinking is not permitted in our exhibit spaces.
