Food & Family
In this 3,650 square foot exhibit presented by GIANT, kids can explore an immersive, open-ended learning landscape with three interconnected zones: a shopping market, a home and industrial kitchen, and a neighborhood festival area.
Where does food come from, and where can we find it? How do we prepare food? How can we share food together? These are the BIG questions we ask children to think about in this new permanent exhibit.
Woodside Park Dentzel Carousel
Take a spin on our glimmering carousel – a piece of history built in 1924! Ride one of the intricately carved horses, rabbits, cats, pigs, goats or our stationary chariots. Rides are fully accessible and can be purchased online. Unlimited Carousel rides are included with our all of our Membership levels.
Featured Artifact: The Slinky
The Slinky was invented in 1943 by Richard T. James, a naval engineer from Philadelphia. Since then, over 300 million Slinkys have been sold and enjoyed by generations of children everywhere!
We are proud to have an extensive collection of more than 25,000 historic toys and games in our collection. The Museum is also home to cultural artifacts representing the history of American child-life including art and other contemporary installations.
