May 6 to June 27, 2021
Please Touch Museum with Philadelphia Contemporary and Temple Contemporary at the Tyler School of Art and Architecture are co-hosting a pop-up exhibition of rainbows created by children during the pandemic.

When families couldn’t go out to play at the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic, children across the region created colorful rainbows to display in windows of their homes to spread joy and hope with their neighbors and communities. During the closure, PTM and Temple Contemporary asked children to create and submit rainbows to the Museum. An online gallery of work was shared via DoubleRainbows.org and we are excited to offer a pop-up Double Rainbows exhibit at Please Touch Museum from May 6 through June 27, 2021.
Children visiting the Museum can view the works of other children and participate in the exhibition by creating a rainbow to share in our gallery. At the completion of the exhibition, the rainbows will be mailed to COVID wards in local hospitals and families who have lost a loved one due to the coronavirus as a show of caring and compassion.
What a wonderful way for children to learn about empathy through play and art-making at Please Touch Museum!
Funding is provided by the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.
