Visit the Museum with free admission on four designated Sundays this summer and learn healthy habits that will prepare children for a great start to the next school year.
ABOUT READY SET SCHOOL
Please Touch Museum is launching a public health awareness campaign and event series — offering free admission to families on four designated Sundays during the Summer of 2022 — to learn about healthy habits and practices through play-based experiences, speak with community resource partners on health-related topics, and receive a free COVID-19 vaccine for eligible children and adults. We know that when children are healthy in mind, body, and spirit, they are READY and SET to learn in SCHOOL.

PAST EVENTS

Eating for Energy
June 26, 2022 | 11 am to 4:30 pm
Cars and buses need gas to run, and our bodies need food for energy.
Explore Please Touch Museum’s new Food & Family exhibit and festival area and learn all about food: where it comes from, how it brings communities together, and how it gives our body energy so we are ready to learn in school. Keystone First will provide community resources on food and nutrition and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia will administer COVID-19 vaccines and boosters to all eligible children and adults.

Healthy Smiles
July 17, 2022 | 11 am to 4:30 pm
Smiles are a simple way to show people that you care. And taking care of your own smile is just as important.
Join us to learn all about taking care of your teeth. Visit the Albert M. Greenfield Makerspace to explore animal teeth and discover how they are similar (and different from!) human teeth, learn about going to the dentist and why teeth fall out, and participate in a pop-up activity about germs and why washing hands before you put food in your mouth is important. Keystone First will provide community resources on dental health and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia will administer COVID-19 vaccines and boosters to all eligible children and adults.

Understanding Feelings
August 7, 2022 | 11 am to 4:30 pm
Sometimes, we feel happy, sad, mad, or confused. All of these feelings are normal, and how we express these feelings is important.
Learn how we can understand our feelings through special story times, interactive yoga and mindfulness sessions, and Creative Arts Studio programs that explore how we can express our feelings through art. Keystone First will provide community resources on behavioral health, stress management, and mental health, and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia will administer COVID-19 vaccines and boosters to all eligible children and adults.
