If YOU could change the world...

We are delighted to share the exciting news of a new, permanent gallery, which will open here in
Spring 2020: Centennial Innovations! The content of this new 5,000 square foot exhibit will re-imagine
how we honor, celebrate and understand the 1876 Centennial World’s Fair.  With the City of Philadelphia’s historic model of the 1876 World’s Fair as a central feature of this new exhibit, we recognize our important role in teaching children how the past connects to – and teaches us about – the future.

Centennial Innovations gives life to this incredible model, asking visitors the same questions that drove the world’s greatest inventors, thinkers and dreamers to Memorial Hall in 1876:

-Why change the world?
-And if you could change the world…
-What would you invent?
-Who would you become?
-What would a new world look like?

Major support for Centennial Innovations has been provided by The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage,  with additional support from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), Hess Foundation, The Anderson Family Foundation, and the City of Philadelphia with special thanks to Councilman Curtis Jones, Jr. Funding for Centennial Innovations is also supported by a grant from the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC), a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
