Accessibility Program: Play without Boundaries
Please join us for Play Without Boundaries, a program and early opening for children with learning and developmental disabilities and those on the autism spectrum.Enjoy the museum before it is open to the public with activities and experiences designed especially for this program, including sensory toys, performances, and guest presenters. The Museum will be calmer and quieter with fewer people and reduced lighting and sound in exhibition areas.
Floreo Virtual Reality Experiences

Floreo is a virtual reality based autism therapy product, and staff will be on hand to facilitate virtual reality experiences for visitors.

Preschool Early Intervention: Elwyn Special Education for Early Development Success (SEEDS)
Hamilton Hall, Main Level
Elwyn SEEDS is an early intervention provider for Philadelphia children ages 3-5 years old. Elwyn provides services for children who have developmental delays. Stop by Elwyn SEEDS table for take home visual support materials, reward charts, community resources, and prizes for kids who complete a special activity at the Museum! Parents of children receiving Elwyn services will be available to address your questions and concerns about early intervention.
Quiet Space & PAWS: Autism Initiative

Looking for a peaceful spot to relax and play? Stop by our quiet space to refocus and recharge. Explore toys, read stories, and make new furry friends while spending time with certified therapy animals teams from PAWS for People.

Drop in any time to experiment with materials and process, as you create works of art inspired by your trip to the Museum.
Dance- Movement Therapy
9:15-9:45 am and 10:15-10:45 am
Group Rooms 5 and 6, Lower Level
Dance-movement therapy will be presented in an experiential format, for children and caregivers to participate in activities that may commonly be used in a dance/movement therapy session. Props such as scarves, stretch cloths, and elastic bands, will be utilized to evoke movement and play.
Signature Events + Family Festivals
Our signature events include family festivals and holiday pop-ups. They offer expanded performance and educational offerings with a special focus that may celebrate cultural traditions and holidays, connect to national and local events, or highlight an area of focus in our exhibits.
Celebrate New Year’s Eve before naptime, featuring live music, a countdown performance and a traditional New Year’s Eve ball drop at 12 and 1pm.
Show off your costume while enjoying a not-so-scary day of learning and play.
Enter the castle to listen to captivating tales, meet princesses and knights and slay some dragons all while exploring history through play.
The Playhouse at Please Touch Museum invites children to exercise their imaginations and enter new worlds. Inside the theater, visitors experience theater in engaging, interactive and unexpected ways. The Playhouse is the perfect way to introduce young children to the performing arts!
