1st Wednesday: August 1, 2018 Kindergarten Mix

Join us for a fun filled night of playing and learning at Please Touch Museum while we explore what it means to go to school! This event supports and celebrates the transition into Pre-K and Kindergarten and features special programming for new students as well as their grown-ups.

Through a partnership with Vetri’s Mobile Teaching Kitchen, chefs young and old will learn how to cook fresh produce.

On the first Wednesday of every month, Please Touch Museum is open until 7 pm for two extra hours of play, and offers $2 per person admission from 4:00 on. Enjoy your visit!

Jump start school readiness with the youngest learners!  Join in activities, songs, and play especially designed to offer time and space to socialize with others and strengthen early learning skills.

Create works of art inspired by your trip to the museum. Kindergarten is a time for children to socialize and make new friends. Explore what it means to be a friend and create a friendship collage.

Back to School Storytime

Get cozy and listen to stories, sing songs, and build literacy skills with stories picked out to get learners of all ages ready for school- from making friends, to recess, and packing a healthy lunch.

The Mobile Teaching Kitchen brings the culinary classroom to the curbside in the communities we serve. Children and families have the opportunity to get hands-on preparing a recipe and get instruction for cooking healthy meals at home together.

Strolling Puppet Tour: Magical School Bus Journey

Join a Museum Educator and strolling puppet for a friendly an exploration of a big yellow school bus. Prepare for your 1st day of school through conversation and songs.  Our first stop will be in the Carousel House on the Main Level!

Meet us at the Torch to stretch, wiggle, and move your body as we end the day with an exploration of rhythm and movement.

Signature Events + Family Festivals

Our signature events include family festivals and holiday pop-ups. They offer expanded performance and educational offerings with a special focus that may celebrate cultural traditions and holidays, connect to national and local events, or highlight an area of focus in our exhibits.

Performing Arts

The Playhouse at Please Touch Museum invites children to exercise their imaginations and enter new worlds. Inside the theater, visitors experience theater in engaging, interactive and unexpected ways. The Playhouse is the perfect way to introduce young children to the performing arts!

Play Without Boundaries

Play Without Boundaries is a program and early opening for children with learning and developmental disabilities and those on the autism spectrum. It is a free event with registration. Enjoy the museum before it is open to the public with activities and experiences designed especially for this program, including sensory toys, performances and guest presenters. The Museum will be calmer and quieter with fewer people and reduced lighting and sound in exhibition areas.
