Position Summary:

The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for supporting the Director of Finance in various accounting processes including payroll; accounts payable; accounts receivable;  and other accounting functions.

Essential Functions:


  • Provide support to the Finance Department in all day-to-day accounting functions including but limited to journal entry preparation; account analysis; credit card account reconciliation and bank reconciliations.


  • Prepare biweekly payroll
  • Prepare payroll journal entry
  • Distribute pay checks
  • Other payroll related functions as needed

Accounts Payable:

  • Reconcile, maintain, and update the current A/P schedule accordingly
  • Assist Director of Finance with evaluating cash needs and preparation of check runs accordingly

Accounts Receivable:

  • Record all incoming checks and credit payments
  • Reconcile, maintain, and update the current A/R schedule accordingly

Cashier Related Duties:

  • Manage petty cash transactions
  • Maintain change fund for cashiers and distribute as needed
  • Reconcile opening and closing cash bags for cashiers

Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required. Bachelor’s Degree, accounting college credits, or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Minimum of  2-3 years of experience performing accounting duties
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated experience in problem solving
  • Experience using Microsoft Office; ADP; Blackbaud; Financial Edge; or other non-profit accounting software
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Comfortable with working in environments of cultural diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Comfortable training others on protocols and systems
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Must have PA Criminal History, FBI fingerprints, and PA Child Abuse Clearances. All background check clearances must be completed prior to hire.
  • COVID-19 vaccination is a requirement for hire.
