Friendship Weekend 
Meet old friends and make new friends during our extra special weekend all about friendship!

Pop-Up Playcorner: Friendly Competitions Saturday and Monday 9- 10 am

Hamilton Hall, Main Level All ages with adult caregiver Put on your imagination cap and participate in friendly competitions. Play board games and join a relay race while talking about what it means to take turns and engage in competitions.

Program Room: Imaginary Friends
11 am – 3 pm
Temporary Program Room, Lower Level
All ages with adult caregiver
Drop in any time to experiment with materials and process as you create your own imaginary friend’s portrait collage.

Play Without Boundaries

Please join us for Play Without Boundaries, a program and early opening for children with learning and developmental disabilities and those on the autism spectrum.

Enjoy the museum before it is open to the public with activities and experiences designed especially for this program, including sensory toys, performances, and guest presenters. The Museum will be calmer and quieter with fewer people and reduced lighting and sound in exhibition areas. Registration is required!

During this event we offer:

• Quiet Space of the Day with Quiet Kit sensory toys
• Full access to Museum exhibit spaces
• Program Room activities

Floreo Virtual Reality Experiences

Floreo is a virtual reality based autism therapy product, and staff will be on hand to facilitate virtual reality experiences for visitors.

Floreo is currently partnering with the Center for Autism Research at CHOP.

Quiet Space & PAWS: Autism Initiative

Looking for a peaceful spot to relax and play? Stop by our quiet space to refocus and recharge. Explore toys, read stories, and make new furry friends while spending time with certified therapy animals teams from PAWS for People.

Paper Strip Sculptures

9:30-11:00 am Temporary Program Room, Lower Level

All Ages

Create works of art inspired by your trip to the museum. Bend, roll, and build a mini paper sculpture to take home. Don’t forget to add a few pieces to the collaborative sculpture!

 

Dance- Movement Therapy

9:15-9:45 am and 10:15-10:45 am

Group Rooms 5 and 6, Lower Level

Dance-movement therapy will be presented in an experiential format, for children and caregivers to participate in activities that may commonly be used in a dance/movement therapy session.  Props such as scarves, stretch cloths, and elastic bands, will be utilized to evoke movement and play.

 

Play Without Boundaries is a free event.

Please Touch Museum: First Wednesdays

1st Wednesdays at Please Touch Museum!

We’re turning the museum upside down and inside out! Investigate opposites all month long.
Through a partnership with Vetri’s Mobile Teaching Kitchen, chefs young and old will learn how to how to cook fresh produce.
On the first Wednesday of every month, Please Touch Museum is open until 7 pm for two extra hours of play, and offers $2 per person admission from 4:00 on. Enjoy your visit!

Join in activities, songs, and play especially designed to offer our youngest visitors time and space to socialize with others and strengthen early learning skills.

Join the Playhouse Players and the Three Little Pigs in this zany production all about building things up and knocking them down.

The Mobile Teaching Kitchen brings the culinary classroom to the curbside in the communities we serve. Children and families have the opportunity to get hands-on preparing a recipe and get instruction for cooking healthy meals at home together.
