Pop Up Holiday Programming: Fall Finale

The leaves are falling fast and the weather is getting chilly. Join us to explore the sights, sounds, and colors of the season through play at our special Fall Finale. We have even scheduled special program hours for First Wednesday on Wednesday, November 1!

Program Room: Trees in the Fall
Program Room, Floor 1
10am – 3pm | First Wednesday hours: 10am – 6pm
Drop in anytime to create works of art inspired by your visit to the Museum! To celebrate the season, twist and make a tree with paper bags and colorful tape.

Pop Up Play Corner: Changing Seasons in the Neighborhood
Hamilton Hall, Floor 1
9 – 10:30am | First Wednesday hours: 4 – 5pm
Put on your imagination cap and get ready for Autumn! Jump in a pile of leaves, prepare for winter, and enjoy the harvest. Through play, explore the colors, sounds, and feels of the season.

Join in activities, songs, and play specially designed to offer our youngest visitors time and space to socialize with others and strengthen early learning skills. This month, investigate the words, feelings, and sounds of sharing.

Drop-In & Draw – Naturalist Sketches: Pumpkins & Gourds
City Park, Floor 1
11:30 am – 12:30pm | First Wednesday hours: 11:30am – 12:30pm
Calling all naturalists! Drop-in to look closely at pumpkins and gourds. Grab a piece of paper and some colored pencils and sketch big, small, bumpy, and smooth pumpkins and gourds.

Maker Program: Mold and Decorate Sugar Skulls
Centennial Classroom, Ground Floor
3 – 4pm | First Wednesday hours: 4:30 – 5:30pm
What is a sugar skull? Join us for an hour-long open- ended exploration of the traditional Mexican tradition of mold making and sugar skull design.

Music and Movement: End of the Day Parade
Hamilton Hall, Floor 1
4:30 – 5pm | First Wednesday hours: 6:30 – 7pm
Join us for a musical parade to end of your day of play and Autumn celebrations at Please Touch Museum.

First Wednesday: Fall Finale

The leaves are falling fast and the weather is getting chilly. Explore the sights, sounds, and colors of the season through play!

Through a partnership with Vetri’s Mobile Teaching Kitchen, chefs young and old will learn how to how to cook fresh produce. The School District of Philadelphia will be on-site with information about Kindergarten registration and readiness.

On the first Wednesday of every month, Please Touch Museum is open until 7 pm for two extra hours of play, and offers $2 per person admission from 4:00 on. Enjoy your visit!

The Mobile Teaching Kitchen brings the culinary classroom to the curbside in the communities we serve. Children and families have the opportunity to get hands-on preparing a recipe and get instruction for cooking healthy meals at home together.

Sam is three and a half, and for some time now has had a bit of a problem. Every time he goes to sleep he has the sneaking suspicion there is something under his bed. “It’s just the dust bunnies,” his big people say… But Sam knows better. He hatches a clever plan to lure the monster out to finally rid himself of the terrible thing that won’t let him rest.
