Please Touch Museum at Memorial Hall, Fairmount Park Press Kit
Please Touch Museum, the nation’s first museum for children ages seven and under, opened its doors at its new home on October 18, 2008. Memorial Hall in Fairmount Park, a National Historic Landmark and the last major building remaining from the 1876 Centennial Exhibition, has been restored to its original architectural grandeur and has more than tripled the size of this renowned children’s museum. This media kit details the remarkable transformation of the building, new exhibit designs that both embrace the history of the Centennial and look to the future, and incredible projects like a life-sized replica of the Statue of Liberty’s Arm and Torch and the restoration of the century-old Woodside Park Dentzel Carousel.
