Top 10 Reasons to Visit

420x280_Medium_30ReasonsVisit.pngActually 11, if you count our historic Memorial Hall home!

  1. We turn the endless childhood questions “Why?” and “How?” into repeated reactions of “WOW!”
  2. We have the Statue of Liberty’s arm and torch – made out of toys!
  3. You can take a spin on our restored 1908 carousel.
  4. Parents learn things, too.
  5. Your child’s body and brain get exercise.
  6. We have theater performances, sing-a-longs and a Story Castle.
  7. Where else can you drive a SEPTA bus, launch rockets or dress up like a purple crayon and journey through a rainbow tunnel?
  8. We love birthday parties and field trips.
  9. We exhibit from a collection of 25,000 toys.
  10. Celebrity sightings have included Cinderella, Curious George, Chewbacca, and the Berenstain Bears.
  11. Memorial Hall, home to Please Touch Museum since 2008, was constructed as the art gallery for the 1876 Centennial International Exhibition, the first World’s Fair in the United States. It also was the first home of the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the University of the Arts and served as a recording studio for the Philadelphia Orchestra.
