ABC Games 2009
June 5th – 28th
Opening Ceremony:
Friday, June 5th at 10 a.m. featuring an athlete parade through the museum, the singing of the new “ABC Games Anthem,” the lighting of the “ABC Games Flame,” and much more.
The 9th Annual ABC Games presented by US Airways encourage an interest in sportsmanship, physical fitness and fun. The events will highlight the importance of active play in the lives of families. This is the first time the ABC Games will be held in Memorial Hall and we are excited to be using the Rainforest gallery as the location for this year’s ABC Games.
The ABC Games present a variety of play opportunities that test strength, coordination, and motor skills. New this year will be the nature-inspired obstacle course that will weave its way through the Rainforest gallery with activities including:
- Climbing Rock Wall
- Island Hopper
- Crawl Thru Tunnel
- Ground Net Crawl
- Spring Vaults
- Obstacle Maze
- Zig Zag Balance
- Log Balance
- Monkey Bars
Children will also be encouraged to create their own flags and have their passports stamped at each activity station. All of the activities are free with museum admission.
