Jump into Medieval Fairytales at Please Touch Museum. Enter a castle, meet Sleeping Beauty, Merida, and a knight in shining armor, listen to captivating tales, and become a knight while exploring history through play, stories, and characters.

Program Room: Yarn Tapestries 11 – 2 pm

Temporary Program Room, Lower Level (All ages with adult caregiver)

Create your own tapestry with colorful yarn! Practice weaving as you design your own piece to take home.

Program Room: Medieval Bestiary Collages 11 am – 2 pm

Temporary Program Room, Lower Level (All ages with adult caregiver )

Take a close look at animal features and build your own mythical beast to befriend.

Imagination Playground: Castle Building 11 am – 5 pm

Imagination Playground, Main Level (All ages with adult caregiver )

Work with the master builder and test your skills in building walls, towers, and arches.

Performance: Medieval Quartet 11:30 am – 12 pm, 1 – 1:30 pm, and 3 – 3:30 pm

Sing and dance along to a music from by-gone days. Listen to a madrigal, yodel to silly tunes, and see a variety of instruments come to life.

Meet the Animals: Philadelphia Zoo 12 – 12:30 pm, 1 – 1:30 pm, and 2 – 2:30 pm

Please Touch Playhouse, Lower Level (Ages: 3+ with adult caregiver – Space is limited to the first 50 children with adult caregiver )

Meet a bird of prey and other interesting creatures one might find inside and outside the castle walls!

Performance: Knight Training School 12:30 – 1pm, 3:30 – 4 pm

Carousel House, Main Level (Ages: 5+ with adult caregiver – Space is limited to the first 25 children with adult caregiver)

Join our knights who are in search of worthy people to join their guild. Learn the etiquette, horsemanship, and lance skills to go from page, to squire, to knight – a 14-year journey – in just 30 minutes.

Storytime: Maid Marian’s Tales 1:30 pm

Wordsworth Cottage, Main Level (Ages: 3+ with adult caregiver )

Listen to Maid Marian at Wordsworth Cottage as she recounts her favorite fairytales and then help her create a one-of-a-kind story!

Drop-In & Draw: Illuminated Manuscript Drawings 2 – 3 pm

Outside Centennial Exploration, Lower Level (Ages: 4+ with adult caregiver )

Examine beautiful pictures and fancy manuscripts. Then grab a piece of paper and create your own drawing inspired by Medieval books.

Strolling Science Lab: Medieval Herb Garden 2:30 – 3 pm

Sid the Science Kid, the Super-Duper Exhibit!, Main level (Ages: 3+ with adult caregiver )

Explore plants from the gardens of kings, queens, and peasants alike! Look closely and conduct investigations as we uncover the mysteries of herbs that were used to help and heal.

Tinker Time: Catapults 3 – 4 pm

Temporary Program Room, Lower Level (Ages: 4+ with adult caregiver)

Get creative and explore materials, tools, and technology through open-ended exploration of catapults.

End of the Day Music and Movement: Royal Court Parade and Ball 4-4:45 pm

Hamilton Hall, Main Level (All ages with adult caregiver)

The Royal Court requests your presence in the main hall! Show off your outfit, learn regal dance steps, and end the day with a royal ball.
