Hear Ye! Hear Ye!

Let it be known that noble and beneficent Lady of the world-renowned Castle Please Touch, nestled in the green tree kingdom of Fairmountia, has invited all storybook characters to come and enjoy the annual Storybook Ball! Dress the part and join us for magical performances, meet and greets, and a fantasy ball – all dedicated to the timelessness of your favorite tales.

Advance ticket holders enjoy special early-bird pricing and express Museum entry.

Day-of admission: $25 at the main entrance

Have your noble picture captured in a Carriage for a king!

The Royal DJ
11 am – 3 pm
Location: Hamilton Hall
Dance to your heart’s content in our Hamilton Hall ballroom

Art Activity: Storybook Collage and Sash-making
11 am – 2:45 pm
Location: Program Room, Main Floor
Conjure up your own unique storybook collage using colored paper and pictures from other books, and add some royal flair to your costume by whipping up a regally decorated sash.

Art Activity: Paper Bag Puppets
11 am – 2:45 pm
Location: Outside Centennial Exhibition Room, Ground Floor
Create your very own original story character puppet using paper bags.

Performance: The Great Blueness
12 pm – 12:30 pm
Location: Please Touch Playhouse. Ground Floor
Join Colorus the Wizard as he discovers the secret to making the world a bright and vibrant place.

Performance: Colorus The Wizard’s Dry-Ice Magic Show
1:30 pm – 2 pm
Location: Hamilton Hall
Be amazed by this legendary performance as Colorus the Wizard creates magic with Dry-Ice.

Storytime: Your Favorite Storybooks
11:30 am, 11:45 am, 12:30 pm, 12:45 pm, 1:15 pm, and 2 pm
Location: Outside Centennial Exhibition Room, Ground Floor
Give your noble feet a rest from dancing and snuggle up to hear your favorite story books.

Strolling Puppets and Characters
11 am – 3 pm
Location: Throughout the museum
Meet Pickle The Jester Puppet, Belle & the Beast, Paddington Bear, Lyle, Lyle Crocodile, Curious George, and Mittens the kitten on your journeys throughout the castle.

The Big Dance Party
2:30 pm – 2:45 pm
Location: Hamilton Hall
End the day with getting your royal groove on!

The Grand Goodbye
2:45 pm
Location: Hamilton Hall, Main floor
Come join us near the main doors to say one final goodbye to all our Storybook Ball costumed friends.
