It’s getting chilly in Fairmount Park! Join us for a day of cool fun inspired by Ezra Jack Keats’ classic The Snowy Day. Make your own snowflakes, explore the weather patterns that create snowy days, snuggle up for a story time and more.

Program Room: Snowflakes

Drop in anytime to create works of art inspired by your visit to the Museum! Explore the crystalline structures of snowflakes and design your own.

Pop-Up Play Corner: Snow Day
City Park, Floor 1
9 – 10:30am
Grab your winter parkas and stop by to revel in the wonder of winter. Through activities and games, create your own snow day and learn about animals that live in polar regions.

Move to the Story: The Snowy Day

Your favorite wintry story comes to life! Listen to a read aloud and then act out parts of a story together.

Strolling Puppets: Storyland

Explore the Storyland exhibition through a kid-friendly conversation with a puppet. Make friends, tell jokes, and give high fives with one of Please Touch Museum’s colorful characters.

Storytime: The Snowy Day

Get cozy and listen to this classic story, sing songs, and build literacy skills in our Storyland exhibition.

Adventurous Afternoon: Water Cycle
Adventure Camp Exhibit, Floor 1
4 – 4:30pm
Meet us at Base Camp to embark on a 30-minute STEAM adventure designed for students ages 4 – 8 years old. Experience what it is like to travel through the water cycle following the journey of a single snowflake, into a flowing river, and back up to puffy clouds.

Music and Movement: Snowball Fight
Hamilton Hall, Floor 1
4:30 – 5pm
Bring your mittens and join us for a snowball fight to close out a special snowy day at PTM.

Drop in anytime to create works of art inspired by your visit to the Museum! Windy days are the best for flying kites. Learners of all ages are encouraged to make a Koinobori, a Japanese carp kite, or build a kite from recycled materials.

Meet and Greets bring little ones face-to-face with their imagination, as well-loved personalities from page and screen come to life. Don’t forget your camera, and please remember to be courteous to other fans!
